Jana Abu Deyah

Jana Abu Deyah is a well-rounded individual with an academic background and a passion for service and community. This passion originates from her Palestinian heritage and immigration experience as a young girl. She speaks fluent Arabic and English. Jana also holds a double major degree in Health Sciences and Environment and Health from Western University, where she has demonstrated her ability to excel academically. Being awarded a Certificate of Merit for Academic Excellence is a testament to her hard work and enjoyment of her education.

While at Western, Jana was able to immerse herself in various organizations that helped her explore the foundations of community, teamwork and service. Jana's experiences as a peer guide for international students are especially noteworthy as she was able to support these individuals through the challenges of adapting to life in Canada. In doing that, she gained an intercultural understanding and respect. This experience helped develop her leadership and intercultural competence skills.

Jana's personal interests led her on a path in law where she is currently studying to apply to law schools and hopefully purse studies to become a lawyer. Her work at Diversitas Law Group as an assistant is further evidence of her commitment to using her skills and gained knowledge to make a positive impact in her community. Outside of her work, she is a co-founder for Umi Studios, a design brand focused on environmental sustainability, highlighting her passion for the environment and her entrepreneurial spirit.

In her free time, she loves being outdoors, networking and living in the moment, emphasizing the importance of a fulfilling personal life as well. Jana has a bright future ahead of her!
