Ahmad Barzak

Ahmad Barzak is a licensed Paralegal and training lawyer at Diversitas Law Group. Ahmad holds a Masters of Laws in Canadian Common Law from York University. He also holds a Bachelor of Law from the United Arab Emirates University. In 2016 Ahmad completed the Paralegal Studies program at Westervelt College in London, ON where he was the recipient of the Faculty of Law Award of Excellence. Ahmad has an experience of more than 5 years assisting clients in areas like: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship during his employment at Edward Corrigan Law Office where he acquired significant experience learning from his mentor the late Edward Charles Corrigan who was a Certified Specialist by the Law Society of Ontario. Ahmad also assists clients with Family law matters under the supervision of Ms. Li Tian. Ahmad’s fluency in Arabic has greatly helped the Arab community in the London community and its surroundings.

Ahmad has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since April 2017. During law school, Ahmad was a member of the University’s team participating in The Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Austria in 2015.

While completing his Masters, Ahmad joined Neighborhood Legal Services in Toronto as a summer student. That experience has built his legal and analytical skills by a massive exposure in different areas of law like: Refugee law, Housing law and Criminal law.

Ahmad sits on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Palestinian Social Association of London, a Not-for-Profit Organization that represents the Palestinian community in London, ON by spreading awareness and increasing the Canadian Society’s knowledge about human rights and international laws. Ahmad is involved with the Canadian Arab Women's Association in Waterloo Region and Guelph ​​where he gives legal information sessions to the public to increase their legal knowledge in the areas of Family and Immigration.

Among other lawyers and policy-makers, Ahmad is a member of the London Muslim Mosque Compliance Committee where subcommittees are divided to review certain policies and make sure it complies with the internal by-laws and Ontario’s legislations.

When he is not at his desk, Ahmad enjoys reading for Edward Said.
